This article examines current trends in the development of Ukrainian companies and the characteristics of corporate management through the lens of corporate social responsibility amid the challenges of war and the structural transformation of the national economy. It is argued that companies’ financial performance is a fundamental prerequisite for implementing corporate social responsibility practices, since profitability creates opportunities for investing in workforce development, environmental initiatives, community engagement, and the implementation of sustainable development principles. The interconnection between corporate management, the ESG approach, and socially responsible corporate behavior is explored, and contemporary international concepts of corporate governance development are summarized. A system of indicators for assessing corporate social responsibility is proposed, structured according to the main stakeholder groups—employees, consumers, the environment, the state, and local communities. A multi-level approach to assessment has been developed, covering the potential for social responsibility at its basic, intermediate, and advanced levels. A comprehensive analysis of the regional dynamics of Ukrainian companies’ development for the period 2010–2024 was conducted using absolute and relative statistical indicators, including the number of operating enterprises, business density, employment levels, personnel costs, sales volumes, financial performance, and corporate profitability. Significant regional differentiation in business development has been identified, which has intensified considerably under the influence of full-scale war. Frontline regions suffered the greatest losses in entrepreneurial potential, while certain rear regions demonstrated relative resilience and adaptability. It has been demonstrated that maintaining high business density, sustaining employment, and increasing personnel costs and corporate profitability create the economic conditions for the spread of corporate social responsibility practices and the strengthening of stakeholder engagement. Particular attention is paid to assessing the situation in the Lviv region, which is characterized by one of the highest levels of economic activity among hinterland regions but, at the same time, has significant potential for the further development of socially responsible business.

Keywords: corporate social responsibility, capital investments, profit, companies, investment attractiveness.
