The article examines the theoretical foundations and practical directions for transforming the mechanisms of public administration in the health care sector amid modern social challenges. It is established that dynamic socio-economic, demographic, technological, and security changes necessitate modernizing existing approaches to managing the health care system and developing a new model of public administration focused on sustainability, adaptability, and effectiveness. The article summarizes theoretical approaches to understanding the mechanisms of public administration in the health care sector and systematizes their main components. The impact of modern social challenges on the functioning of the health care system is analyzed in terms of demographic changes, societal digitalization, resource constraints, rising public expectations for the quality of medical services, crisis situations, and technological innovations. The need to transform public administration mechanisms through digital transformation, development of institutional capacity, strategic planning, management innovations, people-centered governance, and ensuring the sustainability of the healthcare system is substantiated. Priority areas for modernizing management mechanisms are proposed, and their implementation will increase the efficiency of public authorities, improve the quality and accessibility of medical services, and strengthen the healthcare system’s ability to respond to modern challenges. It has been proven that the effective transformation of public administration mechanisms should be based on integrating digital technologies, developing inter-institutional interaction, improving management processes, and implementing innovative approaches to industry management. The practical significance of the study lies in the potential to use the results to inform state healthcare policy, improve the public administration system, and develop strategies for the healthcare industry.
