The article is devoted to the systematization of the theoretical foundations of sustainable economic development management for hospitality industry enterprises (HIE). It is evident that, in the context of the global transition to sustainable development, enterprises undergo a corresponding transformation encompassing economic, social, technological, structural, and functional changes, interpreted as development. Several approaches to understanding the sustainable development of an enterprise are identified: adaptation to new economic conditions; the formulation of a new strategy; a pathway to overcoming challenges associated with the transition to a new state; and the increasing complexity of the enterprise system, among others. Considering the business transition toward sustainability, as well as the nature and purpose of the enterprise, the concept of sustainable economic development (SED) is proposed, and its characteristics are defined: the horizon of change, balance, environmental orientation, and economic efficiency in a new dimension. Given the increasing complexity of the operating environment for modern business entities, the need to consider economic resilience in ensuring SED is evident. At the theoretical level, new characteristics of the hospitality sector in the transition to sustainability are identified (establishing sustainable development goals and principles, updating the business economic model, modernizing the technological base and fixed capital, and expanding strategic competencies), with sectoral specifics fully considered. Both internal and external aspects of ensuring an enterprise’s sustainable development are explained. The essence of the enterprise’s SED management is defined, and the scientific framework for its implementation is generalized. The foundations of SED management have been developed, specifically formulating its key tasks. Finally, the changes required to ensure the sustainable economic development of hospitality enterprises are systematized. The importance of employing digital technology capabilities to support sustainable economic development is noted.
