The article examines the regulatory and legal support for the implementation of environmental innovations in industrial enterprises amid contemporary global environmental challenges and the transformation of economic systems. The relevance of the research topic is confirmed by the increasing negative impact of industrial production on the environment, the need to achieve sustainable development goals, the adaptation of national legislation to the requirements of the European Union, as well as the necessity to form an effective institutional environment for the greening of industry in the context of Ukraine’s post-war recovery. The study aims to systematize and comprehensively analyze the regulatory and legal framework for implementing environmental innovations in industrial enterprises’ operations. The article examines modern approaches to the environmental modernization of the industrial sector, identifies key prerequisites and drivers of production greening, and analyzes the specific impact of economic, regulatory, market, and socio-environmental factors on enterprises of different sizes. The main international and national regulatory acts governing the implementation of environmental innovations are systematized, including the EU–Ukraine Association Agreement, EU directives on industrial emissions and waste management, the REACH Regulation, the EMAS environmental management system, and national strategic documents in environmental policy. The necessity of harmonizing Ukrainian legislation with European standards as a key prerequisite for improving environmental efficiency and integrating into international markets is substantiated. The main stages of implementing environmental innovations at enterprises include environmental assessment, development of an environmental strategy, implementation of best available technologies, establishment of environmental management systems, execution of environmental modernization measures, ensuring information transparency, and conducting environmental audits. It is revealed that the effectiveness of implementing environmental innovations largely depends on enterprises’ access to financial resources, the level of institutional support, and their ability to adapt to regulatory requirements. It is also found that the existing regulatory and legal framework creates the necessary preconditions for the greening of the industrial sector, but requires further improvement in practical implementation mechanisms, the stimulation of innovation activity, and support for small and medium-sized enterprises.
