The editorial board of the scientific journal «Actual problems of innovation economy and law» is guided by the recommendations of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) in its work and regularly updates its policies to reflect current COPE guidelines. Compliance with the ethical rules of scientific publications by all participants in the publishing process helps ensure authors’ intellectual property rights, improve publication quality, and prevent unauthorized use of authors’ materials in the interests of individuals. In turn, the journal’s editorial board encourages and motivates authors to adhere to the appropriate formal and ethical requirements for the preparation and publication of articles submitted to the journal.
Ethical obligations of the editorial board of the journal
- The editorial board, headed by the editor-in-chief, is responsible for the publication.
- All materials submitted for publication undergo careful selection and internal anonymous review by the editorial board.
- The editorial board, with justification of its decision, reserves the right to reject the article or return it to the author (authors) for revision.
- The editorial board objectively and impartially reviews all manuscripts submitted for publication, evaluating each article appropriately, regardless of the race, religion, nationality, or the position or place of work of the author (authors).
- The editorial board is obliged to make fair and impartial decisions and ensure a transparent review process.
- The editorial board may reject a manuscript without review if it has concluded that the work does not meet the profile of the journal.
- The editorial board of the journal opposes falsification, plagiarism, simultaneous submission by the author of one work to several journals, multiple copying of the content of the article in different works, and misleading the public about the real contribution of the author (authors) to the publication.
- The editorial board has the right to withdraw a published article, provided that it violates copyright or generally accepted standards of scientific ethics. The editorial board shall notify both the author who submitted the article and the organization where the work was performed of the withdrawal of the article.
- The editor-in-chief and members of the editorial board shall not provide other persons with information related to the content of the manuscript under consideration, except for persons participating in the professional assessment of this manuscript. After the editor’s positive decision, the article shall be published in the journal and made available on the relevant electronic resources.
- In accordance with international legislation regarding compliance with copyright on electronic information resources, materials of the site, electronic journal, or project may not be reproduced in whole or in part in any form (electronic or printed) without the prior written consent of the journal editorial board. When using published materials alongside other documents, a reference to the original source is required.
Ethical obligations of authors
- Authors of articles bear full responsibility for the content of articles and for the very fact of their publication.
- The author must cite publications that have influenced the essence of the work.
- The author must properly indicate the sources of materials used in the work, if these materials were not obtained by the author himself.
- It is unacceptable to present plagiarism as an original work and submit for publication a previously published article. In cases of detection of the above facts, the authors of the submitted materials are responsible.
- The author who submits the manuscript for publication is responsible for ensuring that only those persons who meet the authorship criteria are included in the list of co-authors and assumes responsibility for the consent of other authors of the article to its publication in the journal.
- Authors must inform the editor of any potential conflict of interest that could be affected by the publication of the results contained in this manuscript.
- In the event of returning the article for revision, the author is obliged to revise it in accordance with the comments of the reviewers or the editorial board, the editorial board has the right to reject the article.
Ethical obligations of reviewers
- In order to improve the quality of scientific articles published in the journal, the editorial board appoints an internal anonymous review for both the reviewer and the author, one of the members of the editorial board of the journal.
- All members of the editorial board are reviewers.
- Based on the results of the review, the reviewer must provide an objective assessment of the quality of the article and its presentation, as well as determine whether it meets high scientific and literary standards.
- The manuscript sent for review is a confidential document.
- The reviewer must convincingly substantiate his own conclusions.
- The reviewer must draw the editor’s attention to any significant similarity between this manuscript and any other published article or manuscript.
- The reviewer must provide a timely response to the manuscript.
- The reviewer must not use or disclose unpublished information contained in the submitted manuscript without the consent of the author(s).
Publisher Responsibilities
- The publisher supports the editorial board in considering ethical issues and complaints;
- The publisher facilitates interaction with other publishers if necessary;
- The publisher ensures that changes, corrections, or withdrawals of publications are made;
- The publisher adheres to the principle of non-commerciality of the journal.
