Organizational and economic mechanisms of strategic development of agricultural enterprises in Ukraine in the context of structur-al transformations and European integration

This article examines the characteristics of the functioning of organizational and economic mechanisms for the development of agricultural enterprises in Ukraine amid contemporary economic transformations, military challenges, and European integration processes. It is argued that the effectiveness of agricultural enterprises is largely determined by the efficiency of organizational and economic management tools, the level of innovation activity, access to financial resources, and the ability of economic entities to adapt to changes in the market environment. The main trends in the development of Ukraine’s agricultural sector are analyzed, including the structure of agricultural exports, the level of production concentration among large agricultural corporations, and the characteristics of small and medium-sized agricultural enterprises. It has been established that the dominance of large agricultural holdings ensures significant export potential for the sector, but at the same time creates several structural imbalances related to narrow specialization of production, unequal access to resources and investments, as well as differences in the level of technological development among enterprises. Attention is paid to the challenges of innovative development in the agricultural sector, specifically the adoption of digital technologies, precision farming systems, and modern tools for managing production processes. A significant technological gap has been identified between large agricultural companies and small and medium-sized enterprises, negatively affecting the overall efficiency of agricultural production and the sector’s competitiveness. The study examines the development of agricultural raw-material processing, production diversification, the expansion of niche crops and organic production, and the impact of environmental and social factors on the formation of a modern agricultural business model. The main institutional and economic constraints on the development of agricultural enterprises are identified, including the instability of agricultural policy, insufficient financial support, institutional barriers, and the complexity of adapting national legislation to European Union requirements. The necessity of improving the organizational and economic mechanisms for the strategic development of agricultural enterprises is substantiated by a combination of state support, the stimulation of innovative activity, the development of digital technologies, and the creation of a favorable institutional environment to attract investment. The implementation of the proposed approaches will increase the competitiveness of agricultural enterprises, ensure the sustainable development of rural areas, and strengthen Ukraine’s food security.
