The subject of the study is the mechanism of competitiveness of grain seed production enterprises in wartime conditions and the transformation of the global market. To study production indicators, competitive advantages, and adaptation mechanisms, the methods of system analysis, comparative analysis, statistical analysis, and generalization were used. The article analyzes the competitiveness of Ukrainian grain seed production enterprises in 2024, in the context of ongoing Russian aggression, the industry’s structural advantages, and the dynamics of world markets. It is substantiated that advanced agricultural technologies, economies of scale of corporate farms, and strategic trade positioning are critical factors in preserving the state’s export potential under war restrictions. The production indicators of the main agricultural crops are studied, including the restoration of grain production volumes, the use of drought-resistant seed varieties, and the concentration of production in large-scale farms. It has been proven that corporate farms account for the lion’s share of production and achieve high yields, thereby supporting international competitiveness. The features of Ukraine’s WTO membership and the implementation of the DCFTA Agreement, which provide access to the Single European Market, are analyzed. Structural competitive advantages are assessed due to geographical proximity to key markets in Asia, Europe, and the Middle East. The impact of military restrictions, including the loss of arable land, damage to infrastructure, reduced production, and falling farm prices, is determined. External competitive pressure from Australian exports and Russian dominance in North African markets are cited as critical threats. The strategic need to use the Ukrainian grain corridor, diversify markets by opening new export destinations, and switching to domestic sunflower processing is substantiated. Mechanisms for increasing competitiveness, including expanding presence in the EU market and forming strategic partnerships, are identified. It is concluded that a comprehensive system of competitive advantages is a determining factor in maintaining the positions of the Ukrainian grain industry in world markets.

Keywords: competitiveness, grain crops, economies of scale, wartime constraints, export diversification, grain corridor, European integration.
