Management of the adaptation potential of the national economy of Ukraine in the system of economic mechanisms of post-war recovery

The article substantiates the theoretical and methodological principles and conceptual approaches to managing the adaptation potential of Ukraine’s national economy within the system of economic mechanisms of post-war recovery. It is proved that the unprecedented challenges of martial law, deep structural and territorial fractures, destruction of the resource and production base, and demographic losses require a departure from traditional approaches to regulation and the formation of a flexible system architecture of economic adaptation mechanisms. The functional role of the mechanism for developing human capital and social inclusion as a basis for providing the economy with professional competencies and reducing socio-economic disproportion is investigated. The strategic guidelines of the system of economic mechanisms are determined, which include structural and technological modernization, long-term economic sustainability, environmental orientation, social inclusion, and European integration. The set of internal and external drivers of adaptation is substantiated, with a leading role played by attracting foreign investment, innovative digitalization, diversification of production, and the development of international partnerships. An expanded interpretation of the category of “adaptive potential of the national economy” at the macro level is proposed, taking into account the conceptual principle of “Build Back Better”. Adaptive potential is defined as the national economy’s ability to ensure structural restructuring, respond effectively to external and internal shocks, restore economic stability, and form long-term competitive advantages based on sustainable development. A conceptual model and a structural-logical scheme for the formation of adaptive potential are developed, which is based on the logical triad “adaptability – economic stability – sustainable development”. Object (adaptive potential) and subject (state, business, institutions, international partners) elements of management in the proposed system are determined. The practical significance of the research results lies in the possibility of their use in the formation of state policy for post-war recovery, development of strategies for structural modernization and improvement of national competitiveness.
