The article examines the features of digital transformation of urban areas in the context of the development of smart cities and the achievement of sustainable socio-economic growth. The role of digital technologies, innovative infrastructure, and modern management approaches in improving the efficiency of urban socio-economic systems is analyzed. Attention is paid to the influence of the Industry 4.0 and Industry 5.0 concepts on the transformation of economic processes, the development of the digital economy, and the formation of human-centered governance models. A significant part of the study focuses on the digital transformation of the real sector, specifically the implementation of ERP systems in agricultural machinery enterprises. The author develops a functional framework for an integrated digital organism that synchronizes the product lifecycle—from CRM and production planning to IoT-based predictive maintenance. This approach ensures operational transparency and resource optimization, which are critical for the food security goals within the sustainable development strategy. Furthermore, the research evaluates the impact of “Pharma 4.0” technologies on the pharmaceutical industry’s competitiveness. The study identifies the dual nature of Industry 4.0 components, such as Big Data, Artificial Intelligence, and Additive Manufacturing, highlighting their potential to enhance product quality and market responsiveness while addressing associated risks of cybersecurity and high capital intensity. The study substantiates the need to modernize the digital economy’s infrastructure, expand information and communication technologies, and implement innovative management tools to enhance the competitiveness of territories and the effectiveness of urban governance. Priority directions of smart city digital transformation are identified, including the integration of advanced technological solutions into urban infrastructure management, the development of innovative ecosystems, and the improvement of citizens’ quality of life. The findings emphasize that the transition to “Smart City 5.0” must harmonize technological progress with social and environmental needs, fostering a symbiotic relationship between digital innovation and national cultural values.
