The article is devoted to analyzing key imperatives that determine the effectiveness of building an organizational and economic mechanism for managing the development of the innovative potential of enterprises. In the conditions of the modern global economy, innovations are becoming the main factor in the competitiveness of enterprises. Creating and maintaining an effective innovation management system is essential for achieving sustainable development and adapting the enterprise to the rapidly changing market environment. The article contains a theoretical analysis of imperatives and practical recommendations for enterprises that seek to increase their innovative capacity and adapt to modern market requirements. Several main imperatives are highlighted that should become the basis for forming an organizational and economic mechanism for managing an enterprise’s innovative potential. An enterprise’s innovative potential is considered a set of available resources, knowledge, technologies, and the ability to adapt quickly to changes. The development of this potential requires constant investment in research and development (R&D). Development management is a strategic process that includes priorities for innovation projects, resource planning, and continuous progress monitoring. Investment in innovation is a necessary component of enterprise development. The article focuses on attracting internal and external financial resources through grants and state innovation support programs. Innovation culture is essential for an enterprise since creating a favorable environment for creativity, encouraging new ideas, and increasing employees’ internal motivation allows enterprises to implement innovations effectively. Strategic innovation management involves clearly defining long-term goals and priorities in innovation and integrating the innovation strategy with the enterprise’s overall strategy. The role of the external environment in building innovation potential is considered, including state policy, support for entrepreneurship, technological infrastructure, and partnerships with scientific institutions and other enterprises. The importance of developing a comprehensive innovation management system, including internal organizational measures, integration with the external environment, cooperation with partners, and state initiatives, is emphasized. Critical areas are also the use of modern information technologies, knowledge management systems, and digitalization of processes to increase the efficiency of the enterprise’s innovation potential.
