Foreign experience of social protection of servicemen

The article states that the social protection of servicemen is of particular importance in the context of modern global challenges and transformations in the field of national security. Therefore, studying foreign experiences in this field presents ample opportunities to improve domestic approaches to the social protection of military personnel. The author found that social protection systems in developed countries are complex and multifaceted, covering a wide range of guarantees and benefits, including basic cash and additional payments, housing subsidies, health care, educational opportunities, and retirement. The article emphasizes that in foreign countries, there is a tendency for regular revision and an increase in the level of social guarantees for servicemen, considering inflation and rising living costs, which highlights the importance of maintaining the competitiveness of military service in the labor market. Special attention is paid to the creation of attractive conditions of service to involve and support highly qualified personnel, which is realized through the system of special incentive payments, compensation, and benefits. Social protection systems for military personnel in developed countries often include life and health insurance elements, which provide additional protection in the event of injury or death during their duties. The author found that in many countries, there are programs to support not only the servicemen themselves but also their families, which testifies to a comprehensive approach to social protection. In addition, significant attention is paid to the issues of adaptation and reintegration of military personnel into civil life, including retraining programs, assistance in employment, and psychological support. It is established that an important aspect is to ensure access to education and professional development opportunities for both the servicemen themselves and their families, which are implemented through various educational programs and financial support for training. In addition, a developed veterans benefit system in many countries provides additional support after they complete active service. There is a tendency to individualize approaches in social protection, considering the specific needs of different categories of servicemen and the features of their service.
