Abstract

In the article the condition and dynamics of development of dairy farming in Ukraine is studded. Performing calculations and presents an analysis of economic efficiency of milk production and sale by agricultural enterprises. The article defines the scope and structure of gross agricultural production. Trends are analyzed in reducing the share of livestock production, including milk in the total volume of gross output. The level of self-sufficiency of milk and milk capacity of the domestic market in Ukraine are defined which point to a sharp decline in consumption of milk and dairy products. Although milk production in Ukraine is profitable and effective, it does not hold back negative trends to a catastrophic reduction in number of cows and milk production volumes.
