Digital transformation as a catalyst for European integration processes development

The article identified the key institutional documents for Ukraine’s development of European integration and demonstrated the critical role of digital transformation. Ukraine’s self-identification as a European state motivates the country to pursue European integration, aiming to secure a prominent position within the European Union. A detailed quantitative analysis of digitalization indicators was conducted, and the main statistical characteristics of the integral index and its sub-indices were calculated. The results demonstrate that digital transformation is a key driver of deepening European integration by ensuring transparency in public administration, developing digital services, adapting the business environment to European standards, increasing economic sustainability, and accelerating institutional change. This study identified the key institutional documents that have shaped Ukraine’s European integration and demonstrated the pivotal role of digital transformation in implementing the European Commission’s recommendations. A detailed quantitative analysis of digitalization indicators was conducted. The main statistical characteristics of the integral index and all sub-indices of digital transformation were calculated. Histograms of the sub-index distribution were generated and analysed to determine their moral values, distribution types, and the intensity of digital change across regions. Correlation analysis of the sub-indices identified relationships between digital transformation components and determined which had the most tremendous impact on the overall digitalization level. A visual study of the dynamics of the digital transformation index revealed uneven regional development and territorial disparities. The results indicate that digital transformation is a key driver of deepening European integration, as it ensures transparency in public administration, the development of digital services, the adaptation of the business environment to European standards, increased economic sustainability, and faster institutional change.
