The role of the strategy in ensuring the economic security of the agricultural enterprise

A successful operation of any agricultural enterprise in the period of economic crisis mainly depends on the effectiveness of strategic management of its economic security system. The effective economic security of an enterprise is possible only with a comprehensive and systematic approach. It allows ensuring strategic development of the enterprise, to develop tactical and operational measures in order to minimize all negative consequences of internal and external threats. Based on the study, the essential characteristics of the economic security of an agricultural enterprise and the assessment of its level were considered. It was found that the mechanisms for improving the economic security of agricultural enterprises, which take into account industry specifics and destructive factors, have not been sufficiently developed. The formation of economic security was under study. The defining characteristics of the states of economic security are given. The author’s understanding of a category “economic security of agricultural enterprises” is proposed based on rethinking modern interpretations of the studied definition and their systematization. It has been emphasized that economic security occupies an important place in the strategic management structure of the agricultural enterprise. The main aspects in the management of economic security strategy are highlighted due to a wide range of interpretations and approaches to defining the strategy. The economic security strategy of the enterprise as an object of management is structured. The advantages of a strategic approach in the economic security management of the enterprise were also considered. It is noted that a process of developing an economic security strategy takes into account both objective and subjective factors. The main process stages of developing an economic security strategy are described. A necessity of formation a strategy for ensuring economic security in order to create stable conditions for dynamic competitiveness and financial, economic sustainability of agricultural enterprises in the long run was substantiated.
